Collection: Forestry Wool

Forestry Wool creates woollen blankets for the home. The blankets are designed in the Netherlands and produced in mills in Europe. We are working with producers from Italy, Denmark and Ireland.

Forestry Wool was established in 2013 by Virginia Star Busmann. Virginia has a bachelor degree from Auckland School of Art, a career in design and a passion for wool and textiles. A move from her home country New Zealand in 2009 to the colder climate in the Netherlands triggered the inspiration to create a blanket collection with her own unique style of design.

The blankets are evolving all the time, the collection has recently grown to include a collection of hand spun and woven soft tweed blankets woven on traditional wooden looms in a family run mill in Kilcar, Ireland. These luxurious plaids are designed to be enjoyed for a lifetime and passed on to next generations.
