Anna and Roger Wilde’s cookbook Real Fresh Gluten-Free Food is a revised and updated version of their classic healthy eating cookbook. It is a good looking book, with bright enticing images that make gluten-free food look enjoyable, instead of just edible. It’s recipes are well spaced out clearly readable, making it easy to glance at while cooking.
I have been gluten free for some time and other gluten-free cookbooks I have looked at or owned have been a little boring, and lacking in modern recipes and imagery. This book is looks trendy and and really caters well for the health conscious and gluten free people who like modern cuisine.
The first recipe I tried was the rice paper lasagne – genius! It saves buying expensive gluten free pasta sheets and it tastes great. It was quick to cook and definitely my go to recipe for lasagne from now on.
The second recipe I tried was the smoked fish frittata using some smoked kawhai I had in my freezer. Again, it was quick, easy and tasty. It took 10 minutes to prepare, 30 minutes to cook, and it was delicious.
This book is fulled with genuinely tasty recipes, most of which don’t require a trolly full of ingredients and half a day spare. Best of all, you don’t need to be gluten-free to enjoy Real Fresh Gluten-Free Food. I would highly recommend this book to everyone looking for healthy options because it is just a good cook book. I look forward to trying the next recipe!
